Adam Remsen

the Co-Founder of quark theatre

Quark Theatre originated in 2015 when Tony Isbell, Louisa Koeppel, and Adam Remsen came together to mount an independent production of Samuel Beckett’s Krapp’s Last Tape and Ohio Impromptu. The run was a success, garnering enthusiastic audiences and critical praise from local reviewers. When the show closed, the three decided to form a company dedicated to the kind of thoughtful, challenging theatre that they loved, and that they felt was underrepresented in the Memphis theatre scene. Quark's goal is to focus on works that have not received local productions, especially (but not exclusively) recent plays.

What exactly is a live crowd fund?

Crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising small amounts of money. We do it live and in-person, which provides a more intimate experience.

Time to move from behind your computer screen!

How much does each presenter receive?

The bucket is as big as the crowd! The ticket sales are split among presenters to support their work.

Wait so, 100 people come out and tickets are $10, then the bucket is $1,000?

Yep! Simple. Now let’s invite our friends.

What are we looking for?

We love a great stories and ambitious ideas.

Crowdfund Live pitches typically are 10 minutes long.
